About

Raised in Mumbai, Pooja joined Gokhale in 2019 after she completed her PhD in Economics from the University of Mumbai. She graduated in Economics from the D G Ruparel College.

International trade and foreign direct investment are the areas of her research. She believes it is important for students to develop the ability to apply their knowledge to solving existing problems in our society. The focus of her teaching and research is to make students learn through this holistic approach.

In addition to teaching and research, Pooja likes to read books that deal with varied socio-cultural aspects of society, preferably in Marathi. She loves origami, gardening and travelling.

Projects

Worked as a RESEARCH ASSOCIATE in Economic and Political Weekly Research Foundation from 1 January, 2013 to 31 December, 2013 on a project funded by NABARD. The project involved building up of a Rural Infrastructure Development Index across various states of India.
