Prema Borkar is an Assistant Professor at the Gokhale Institute. She completed her B.Sc. (Agri) from the College of Agriculture, Nagpur, and her M.Sc.(Agri) from Shri Shivaji Agricultural College, Amravati. She earned her Ph.D. from Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola, Maharashtra.

Her specialization is in Agricultural Economics. She has more than 15 years of teaching experience in her bag. She has taught more than 20 courses at the B.Sc.(Agri) and M.Sc. programs, including statistics. She holds certification in Advanced Data Science (R and Python), Machine Learning, Business Analytics, Business Forecasting, and Data Mining from different institutes. SAS Global Certification Program has certified her as an SAS Certified Base Programmer for SAS 9.

Agricultural Economics, Market Intelligence, Multivariate Data Analysis, Prediction Modeling, Time-series Analysis, Forecasting, Data Envelopment Analysis, Neural Networks, and Structural Equation Modeling are some of her research interests. She has presented over 25 research papers at national and international conferences.
