Welcome to the official website for the “Sanitation: Issues and Challenges” Conference in Pune to be held at Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics from 23rd to 24th September 2024. The Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics in association with AG-02 Sociology of Sanitation, Indian Sociological Society is pleased to announce this conference. This landmark national event promises to be a major meeting of the scholars especially from sociology and other disciplines working in the area of sanitation.

We are seeking contributions from variety of methodological and theoretical perspectives and empirical contributions on critical issues and challenges in sanitation. The conference includes—plenary sessions, technical session, exhibition and poster presentations. The AG-02 Sociology of Sanitation wishes to publish select articles in a peer-reviewed journal and hence, requests those interested to submit full papers by 10th September 2024.

We invite you to submit the abstract for the upcoming conference. The abstract should not be more than 300 words which should include author’s name/s, affiliation and contact information. Please submit your abstracts to sanitationconference@gipe.ac.in Please note that the deadline for abstract submission is 5th September 2024.
