Professor at Gokhale, primary research interests are Sex ratio, Maternal and child Health – Mortality, Morbidity and Nutrition, Cost of Healthcare, Health Systems Research, She Joined Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics  from June 2010 as Associate Professor,

Now she is Professor and Head of  Centre for the Study of Social Inclusion and Dean of Academic Affairs

During tenure at Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics  she has done research project with different agencies like – State and Central Government ,UNFPA,UNICEF,SWISSAID,Yashada (State Government),DASRA (CSR),Royal Tropical Institute (KIT), Netherlands,UN Foundation
