About
Dr. Saylee Jog is an Assistant Professor and B.Sc. Economics Program Coordinator at Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics, Pune. She teaches courses in Microeconomics, Urban Economics and Economic Geography to undergraduate and postgraduate students, designing interactive, application-oriented learning experiences.
She has collaborated and mentored on projects with Janwani, the Policy Research Organisation, and other initiatives focusing on urban policy, governance, and civic engagement. Before joining GIPE, she taught in the Department of Economics at Fergusson College (Autonomous), Pune, and worked with the Urban Governance team at Janwani, a Pune-based non-profit.
She holds a B.Sc. in Economics from Symbiosis School of Economics, an M.A. in Economics from Fergusson College, and a Ph.D. in Economics from GIPE. Her research interests lie in urban governance, urban finance, land economics, municipal taxation, and policy evaluation.
Beyond academics, she is passionate about mentoring students and enjoys reading, travelling, and exploring cities through the lens of economics and culture.
