Students share their personal experiences about M.Sc.Economics (Agri Business Economics)program

MSc Economics (Agribusiness Economics) at Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics is an esteemed and well-rounded program that integrates economics, agricultural economics, and business economics. The course builds a strong foundation, starting from core economics and advancing to master’s-level concepts, covering microeconomics, macroeconomics, statistics, and econometrics. Whereas the agriculture-focused like Indian agricultural economics, agricultural finance, along with electives like like farm management economics, offer a good background for career in Agribuisness Management and related fields. However, what I found most interesting is the business aspect of the course, it adds a practical dimension with courses on supply chain management in agriculture, strategic agro-food marketing, and electives like insurance economics and commodity derivatives. Apart from the coursework, we get numerous opportunities to attend conferences and research paper presentations organized by the Institute. Such events boost careers in research, engage with industry experts, and provide networking chances.
Beyond academics, what makes this program good are the incredibly supportive faculty, who  guide and mentor students in their career journeys. Despite the demanding coursework, we still have ample time for self-study, research, or preparing for placements and related activities.
